Art
Art allows us to express ourselves, explore creativity, and see the world in new ways. It allows us to develop our self-confidence, concentration and perseverance whilst also being beneficial to our well-being.
Our art curriculum is designed to:
- Encourage a love for art and a curiosity about different techniques and materials
- Build confidence in creating artwork and understanding artistic concepts
- Develop observation, creativity, and critical thinking skills
- Support working both independently and in groups
- Help children apply art skills in other areas of learning
Our curriculum allows children to grow their artistic skills alongside learning about a variety of artists. Children understand the role art has in shaping and reflecting history and culture, through studying the different principles, styles and periods of art. We encourage exploration of various mediums like drawing, painting, and sculpture. By using a mix of practical tasks and discussion of famous artworks, children develop a strong understanding of artistic processes and styles.
