Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) – Spanish (KS2 only)

Spanish is an important part of understanding and connecting with the wider world. It helps us communicate across cultures and gain insight into different languages and traditions.

Our Spanish curriculum is designed to:

• Encourage a love for learning Spanish and curiosity about different cultures
• Build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish
• Develop vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills
• Support working independently and collaboratively in language activities
• Help children apply their Spanish skills to real-life situations and cultural understanding

Our curriculum follows the Language Angels scheme created by specialist language teachers and linguists. We use interactive lessons, songs, games, and practical activities to help children develop their language skills in a fun and engaging way. By exploring Spanish-speaking cultures and practicing communication, children build a strong foundation in the language and gain a greater appreciation for the diversity of the world.
