Science

Science is a key part of our everyday lives. It helps us explore, understand, and make sense of the world around us. It is also vital in helping us to improve our lives and how we live.

Our science curriculum is designed to:

• Encourage a love for science and inspire a curiosity about how things work
• Build confidence and understanding of important science knowledge and skills
• Develop problem-solving and thinking skills
• Support working both independently and as part of a team
• Help children use science in other subjects across the curriculum

Our curriculum follows a clear progression to help children grow their science knowledge and skills step by step. We focus on hands-on learning exploring all types of enquiry, so pupils develop the skills needed to investigate their own questions as well as ensuring children fully understand how scientific processes work.
