Our maths curriculum develops:

  • Competence and confidence in mathematical knowledge, concepts and skills
  • Problem-solving and reasoning
  • Initiative and an ability to work both independently and in cooperation with others
  • The ability to use and apply mathematics across the curriculum

Our curriculum follows the White Rose scheme of work and is specifically tailored to each classes needs. Planning is carefully crafted into ‘small steps’ which develop children’s fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills and conceptual understanding for mastery. A CPA (Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract) approach is taken to ensure children develop a sound understanding of mathematical processes.
